Business Analyst

BAs are instrumental in defining problems then shaping the solutions we deliver. As a BA, you will work with businesses to help identify problems by researching user needs, gathering requirements, building backlogs and supporting delivery.

  • Required Skills/Experience

    • Consulting experience
    • Experience leading agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, planning, refinement
    • Experience leading client engagements: main point of contact with the client / team
    • Mentoring junior team members
    • Managing client escalations
    • Experience of Lean project delivery
    • Stakeholder interviews, workshop facilitation
    • Audience research: card sorting, wireframing, usability testing
    • Great interpersonal skills
    • Coherent, concise verbal and written communication
    • Analytical, systematic approach to understanding and defining processes
    • Agile / Scrum (inc. Kanban) experience
    • Software development tools such as JIRA, TFS, Trello
    • Experience on pitch work / supporting new and existing business development
  • Responsibilities

    • Gathering requirements, understanding client business models / goals
    • Stakeholder management
    • Writing and owning user stories, configuring and building backlogs
    • Process / service mapping and design
    • Presenting and demoing to clients and the team
    • Facilitating client workshops, team meetings, agile ceremonies
    • Assisting the new business team on pitches and proposals
    • Senior BAs will be expected to line manage
  • What we are looking for

    BAs are at the heart of consulting at Amido. From working with businesses to identify problems, through researching user needs then gathering requirements, building backlogs and supporting delivery, our BAs are instrumental in defining problems then shaping the solutions we deliver at Amido.

    We’re looking for BAs who like autonomy, who are comfortable extracting answers and work in a proactive manner. Good diplomacy and stakeholder management skills are essential as every day you’ll be working with clients, often inexperienced in software delivery, guiding and coaching them through the process as well as doing your job.

    Although the core role is that of a consulting BA, as part of the Analysis and Experience (A&X) team you’ll also perform UX activities from time to time. From researching users’ needs to creating wireframes you can usability test with customers, we expect you to have a mindset that seeks evidence to inform your design decisions. We’re not looking for UX experts: BA skills are our priority. But a willingness to learn and a desire to stretch in this direction are essential.
