London, U.K., 2nd May, 2018 – Amido, a vendor-agnostic technical consultancy specialising in cloud-first transformation, enters the Best Digital Transformation Projects category with its Project FreQ, beating of hundreds of entries in this year’s category. Project FreQ was shortlisted for its innovative use of technologies to help a worldwide media and entertainment company struggling to monitor its clients’ promotional campaigns across several platforms and stations. The labour-intensive task was proving time consuming, taking the commercial teams away from their preferred role of brokering more campaigns.

Prior to building the unique and innovative ‘FreQ’ [pronounced free-q] product, the international media and entertainment company’s commercial teams were manually listening back to each show to record the mentions within the duration of the presenter’s air-time – a time ranging between an hour to three/four hours.  Once all the mentions were logged, they cut and pulled each of these clips into an audio-file so that the client could listen to the campaign.  In addition, the commercial team would need to offset these mentions against other factors, such as peak hour listening numbers, ensuring that the client’s promotional targets were hit as well as the ROI. This pain-staking task was supremely vital to the commercial arm of the business in order to maintain client relations and secure further business ventures.

The success of FreQ means that Amido is recognised by its peers as a company that does not take a ‘one size fits all’ approach to digital projects. Judges valued how Amido listened to its client’s business needs and ideas that led to delivering a product and transformation which disrupted how the media industry could access, edit, send and save audio files as swiftly as using a search engine.

The awards first launched in 2014 and celebrates innovation, entrepreneurialism and technical excellence from the leading cloud suppliers, technologies and projects in the in the UK cloud sector. The ceremony, which is being sponsored by Ingram Micro, will reward the best in the industry as chosen by a panel of expert judges. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony at County Hall, London on 16th May 2018.

Alex Hilton, CEO of CIF, co-host of the awards along with Cloud Pro, said: “This is the fifth year we have run the UK Cloud Awards and we are delighted to announce that we had a record number of entries this year, confirming our belief that the UK Cloud Awards are now a recognised feature of the technology industry’s awards calendar.”

The Shortlist for the award swiftly follows placements in the UK Best Workplaces 2018 list and the FT 1000: Europe’s Fastest Growing Companies 2018 list.
