Senior Front End Consultant

Location – London

As the most senior Front End Consultant on each project you’ll be responsible for architecting the single page applications, JavaScript SDKs and beautiful UIs that solve each client’s unique business problems.

You’ll typically work directly with client stakeholders to understand needs and define solutions. Once approved you’ll guide the technical direction of Front End on the project, ensuring quality coding and design patterns are kept to.

Following Agile methods including TDD and BDD you’ll pick up user stories from the product backlog, take part in daily stand-ups and be looked upon to turn stories into thoroughly tested, deployable JavaScript, HTML and CSS code.

JavaScript frameworks are determined on a project-by-project basis but with internal discussions constantly driving adoption of the right tech for the right task, expect these to be up to date. Currently we use React and Angular with discussions around Angular2 already taking place.

You’ll be experienced in senior-level Front End development covering application-level JavaScript for multiple JS frameworks, CSS and HTML. You’ll have undertaken your own Unit testing, understand distributed source control and responsive design, and be familiar with Agile.

You’ll need an understanding of application architecture including APIs, CDNs, Caching etc. and knowledge of the tooling that makes front-end projects tick: From HTML and CSS through to semantic markup, Sass and LESS, BEM and SMACCS and onwards to Grunt and Webpack.

We hire mature thinkers who see tech broadly and for what it is: a solution to a business problem. Amido are tech agnostic, we want you to feel the same.

Your work will make an immediate impact as you take responsibility for how Front Ends are designed and built from the get go. You should get a real kick from seeing your solutions deliver measurable results.

We have a clear progression structure across Amido. From this role you can secure promotion to a Lead Front End Consultant position where you’ll own the entire technical direction of projects including managing team members, architecture and delivery.

Our projects are 99% greenfield and designed to solve business problems via clear deliverables. As a result you will rarely need to maintain legacy tech or undertake support-based activity but rather be exposed to a wide variety of tech stacks and businesses.

All our projects are highly Agile with fully-automated Cloud deployment, if necessary we’ll support you in getting to grips with both Agile and DevOps-style approaches.

We have a technical improvement budget for every single staff member and encourage self-learning in every project. If you want to learn something let us know and we will support you.
